NAVED card vote......

Tue Dec 27, 2005 2:04 pm

I like card number 1. Simple and direct, I like the MASTER DIVER designation for all. I think a $20.00 charge for the card would be a good idea. With 35 members interested you would have enough bucks to get production going.

Lisa, I removed the poll until Friday. Just in case there were any more entries. I'll put it back up for a final vote then.
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

I did not mean for you to restart the poll, I was just going na,na,na, nah, nah, lol :P . I liked the ones we had to choose from. I think the colors and all that can be refined on whichever one wins. I think the final absolute design will obviously require some modifications, this poll is just to get the concept down isn't it? I mean, printing considerations, costs etc may influence the final design even after we choose a winner. That should be expected.
I don't have full blown photoshop program on either computer--I need to get the real deal. But I was playing around with my new photo printer and printed a card out and then made a back for it and stuck it into a plastic sleeve. Just to see how it would look. This may be easier to do that we think. Tomorrow and Thusrday I am going to go visit around to see what print shops can do. The fact is though that a talented person with Photoshop could produce the card in two pieces--a front and a back-- and then place them back to back in a laminating sleeve and --PRESTO---instant card. Each card would have to be individualy made to get our pictures and names on them but it could be done that way.

Being an former print shop owner I just happen to have the above mentioned laminating machine and a sizable quanity of laminating sleeves.
James is right, they do a nice job on cards. When you have a solid plan if a laminator is required you have one and a highly trained operator to boot! lol

Something I would like to see on the card is a proper proportioned dive flag. It is a part of the past and seems we are still trying to educate the general public on what it is or isn't.
Besides it adds some eye catching color and makes it look like a PADI card!

HA!

Ya'know....Roger would be the better one to ask :D To me it looks like a knife...one that looks like the 20 or so others he has  . Right now there are lots of divers in town and we are doing double/triple charters every day. It might take a couple of days for him to get back to you.

I picked one up about fifteen years ago at a fleae market, but no sheath.

Its a nice looker, but without the sheath, pretty good wall hanger.

Any chance you could regale the forum with some of your dive adventures in the warm pacific. Thoise of us who are freezing uup here need a warm water story fix. makes passing the time in our caves more bearable. I hear the charter business is booming? Hope all is well , and a Happy and prosperous and healthy New Year

I spoke to a print shop and I did not have much success, they are geared to a max of four colors on one side. The other place I am working on is closed due to the owner having shot himself in the foot Christmas morning with an Airforce Talon pellet rifle. I undestand surgery was required. Sooo, I hope other folks are looking around. I am beginning to believe
