Mine is a White Stage and looks nothing at all like the one in the picture that I can't see...
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

Who do you think was the originator of the idea? And is this the first inflatable style backpack?

The first back inflatable may have been the "ATPAC", which even had a place in the hard pack to put large lead shot for ballast. It had a hinged door on the bottom of the hollow pack that opened to drop weights. I don't recall when they were first made, but I do remember seeing them in use in 1976.

Other early manufacturers of "wings" were ScubaPro and Seaquest. I tried the Seaquest wings by the late 70's, and never went back to other types after discovering the freedom and comfort.

The Atpac wing dates back to about 1973. There were competing copies, one made by Waterlung, for example.

Remember the Scuba Pro AT-Pack. I wonder if this wierd gadget was the impetus. What do think?

If anybody wants a White Stag sea turtle let me know. Its never been in the water but I cant find the original box yet. I know this is the wrong forum but since we're on the subject.......
