Nemrod in another forum a person wishing to dive k valve without spg seemed quite upset by your advice. I personally feel you were correct and the person was wrong. WHY ASK FOR ADVICE IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO HEAR IT. using the advice or not is their own choice- but they should be willing to bear the consequences Also you mentioned different procedures for filling J valves- could you elaborate?

21 You are quite right "I don't know what I'm asking about." Somehow in my mind I combined the manifold displayed in topic "double yoke manifold with isolator" with a plumbing arrangement by another diver (self made). Thank you to all who replied I appreciate all advice, even when I don't know what I'm asking. rather I appreciate all advice ESPECIALLY when I don't know what I'm asking.

Try not to take anything too personally on here......

BTW, You can E-mail any one DIRECTLY by clicking on the little E-mail icon below any post they make....Or by looking them up in the member directory that contains the same E-mail icon.
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

I think I remember the thread you mention but I was not upset by it nor do I think I took it personal--sorry if I did. People often ask for advice but in reality they want you to justify their idea/belief system/whatever have you and then will get defensive when an alternate view is provided or their question (which is really a statement pretending to be a question) is not agreed with.

Sometimes I am wrong, usually not  , but when I am, well, I usually admit it. Sometimes it is not right or wrong but simply that there may be more than one acceptable way to do a certain thing.

As Bryan said, good advice, don't get personal in these threads, people sometimes dissagree and that is absolutely expected and among people hwo have been around long enough to have legitimate opinions you must also absolutely expect them to present and defend them with forcefull arguments. Don't take it personal. :D

Michael, how smart you are, how did you guess that  ?

I cannot entirely think badly of scubaboard, at first I enjoyed tormenting them but as time has passed slowly I have gained a loyal following of Nemrodites  . My mail there is full of private letters and uh---well--I think I have become somewhat "KNOWN". People recognise me--it is true---on Table Rock several people waved, one stopped by and talked. At Portage I met several of my scubaboard friends also. Some may be planning my demise  . I even have my arch rivals as if in some Marvel comic book story--worthy foes they are with super powers--such as "The Lady in Black."

Anyway, they are all good people, I have to quit being so mean to them-- ---nah  .

Oh, thank you Rob.

There are about 4 forums on scubaboard that I bother to look at. 90% of the forum is "Please help me select some gear" threads, with the same people posting the same recommendations over and over, and then bickering over the same points. I won't even start on the DIR fanatics, the anti-solo bedwetters, the anti-diy repair crew("It's life support equipment! Mere mortals can't fix that! Won't someone think of the children!"), blah blah blah.
Most of the people for whom I have any respect for on scubaboard also have accounts here and on VSS. The only time I bother going there is when I'm bored and I want to torment someone, ala Nemrod ;)
