JYC COINS-- KARL'S REGULATOR

Wed Aug 23, 2006 1:00 pm

What a capital idea--use the JYC/US Divers coins (key chains) for decor of a regulator.

At one time very abundant--every shop had them, now probably some what rare.

Some times it pays to not toss any thing and be a pack rat-- I have a nunber of them.

It does look like a coin but it is actually a custom made urethane piece molded from the logo on an old pair of otaire (sp?) fins. I then inset the logo into a custom made urethane disk. The metal effect is achieved by brushing aluminum powder into the mold before pouring the urethane. The powder bonds to the uretane for a metal finish that will not rub off. -Ryan

JYC COINS- KEY RINGS

Wed Aug 23, 2006 7:18 pm

As part of the 25 th aniversary of JYC's Aqua lung US Divers produced the famous and expensive gold plated regulators. In addition they also produced some brass key rings as part of the celebration.

I don't know who or how the receipants were chosen; possibly they were dealers or quite possibly they were retail customers. The were apparently distributed rather freely with in the So Cal community for I ended up with a number of them.

OK, here's my Phoenix RAM.

I stayed more on the traditional side by using an awesome Round Brass RAM label from Jerry Moseman to compliment the Phoenix label on my yoke knob. :D

OBTW, this regulator was originally a late model Round Label AM. After the Phoenix nozzle upgrade it breathes as good as my factory RAM (maybe even a little better). 8)

Karl,

The image you've posted in the gallery is awesome! You do great work. 8)

Any thoughts about making a Round Label with the same basic design??

Regards,

Joe
