I am not in the market for any but I wonder if there is a current source for the Rondine fins? Wasn't there a Super Rondine?

James
There is a knockoff as I stated earlier. It is called the Oceanways Aquapro.

I have just found this wonderful web site a few days ago-and I can't believe the information available on it. I had 3 pair of those fins from sears in the 50's-1st pair ripped at the toe -second pair ripped at the heel - 3rd pair was stolen. diverdown how in the world did you get the fins to last so long? :D

There were a number of Cressi-Sub Rondines made. They were the first fins I ever owned and a pair are packed for my trip to Truck Lagoon in three weeks. They are rugged, stiff and heavy. If dropped they will sink.

Cressi has applied the same name to several modern fins sold today. My first pair were imported from Italy to Australia in 1959. They did not have Healthways markings or anything, but Cressi on them. The pair I have now, have Healthways markings, and I dive them routinely.

They also came with a top strap, which went over the in-step of the foot. I believe that was intended for body surfing and other white water use. There were several colors available too. Blue and yellow come to mind but it has been too many years to be sure.

In Australia, they sold for 50 shillings (about $5) in 1960.The bigger the foot size, the higher the price. Sizes were 5-7, 8-10 and 10-12. The Giant model sold for 90 shillings. (Ref: Black Rock Down Under magazine April 1960)

I have seen unmarked models, but I have no idea if they were pirated models or not.
