Other than the lable side of the box it is an exact copy of the DA Navy. Sam may be able to shed some light on this but I believe USD made them for Voit before Voit started up its own production. I do not know when Voit got into the scuba business. This regulator has a serial number below 2000.

Captain,

That's a nice regulator that you have there. What a great gesture for the guys to get you what you've been looking for. If you send me your mailing address, I'll do my part and send you a NOS GREEN Voit Diaphragm to help make that regulator original.

The restoration is complete. Dennis at Sir Chromealot re-chromed the front of the box. Apon disassembly I found several cracks around the edge of the rear half of the box. Sam Miller searched his closet and came up with a like new one plus extras. Allen provided the reproduction green harness. It is mounted on my original 1956 Voit tank and J valve. Many thanks again To Bryan who was the instagator, Allen, Sam and any others who participated in this great surprise.

Tom it looks great! I am rather impressed at how fast you brought that old reg back to life. Also I am impressed with the class of the folks that helped with the restoration. Way to go ALLAN, Dr SAM MILLER, and of course the main HOLLIGAN BRYAN :D .
This is the best group of guys and gals!

The outside looks like a million bucks! How did the inside turn out? Any photos you can share? Will you be diving it at Portage Quarry next month?
I can only imagine what that regulator would bring at auction now!!

Very nice regulator.

You did a great job restoring.

I am sure it brings back allot of fond memories.

Do you plan on taking it diving again?

It cleaned up to almost new inside, go back to the pictures on page one. If I make it to Portage I will dive it. We will never know what it will bring at auction. I may have it buried along with me.

Hope to see you and Cindy at Portage.....If you don't have it buried with you, I'll bet you can send one of your Grandchildren to LSU for what it will bring at auction in the future!!!

All this talk of burying it with you. Egads!!!

I hope you get to wear it out from so much use .

Of course this will take time which means sticking around until a ripe old age.

It is indeed a nice specimen, and should last for a long long long long long time!!!!
