USD West Pico Over Pressure with no serial number???

Fri May 29, 2015 1:02 am

Hi, I received a USD Pico Over-Pressure reg. Two things are odd:

1) I had thought Over Pressure regs all used the Broxton address
2) It was not stamped with a serial number.

The label is original and missing most of the yellow paint but the plated section of the label that would normally receive the stamp has clearly never been stamped. I understand Over Pressure regs were made from 1954 to 1956 so I am thinking it is late 1956 based on the address.

Are West Pico Over-Pressure regs common?
Any thoughts on no serial numbers?

I've had Pico address overpressure breathing regulators in the past but never one without a serial number stamped on it...
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

Check out the Mistral family pdf. in the catalog/manual section of VDH:

"The labels were serial numbered, with some retaining the Broxton Ave address [30020-36421]
and later ones with the newer West Pico Blvd address [38090-42760]."

I just received a West Pico DX Ser. # 42XXX. So yes they do exist.

Not seen one without Ser. # though.

I was bidding on that one too. I thought it might have been an un-stamped dealer/demo model, or factory "escapee".
