To Tinnerman or not to Tinnerman?

Sun Oct 05, 2014 4:23 pm

Is there any company out there that still makes "tinnerman" type clips. Any takers?

Sure, if you want to buy 10,000 units. That there is the sticking point....

A bunch of people looked at sources for these a while back. To Jim's point, you need to order a ton of them.

I guess it will be refurbished tinnermans and zip ties for now. Thanks for the warning.

Tinnermans are great for display, but nowhere near as practical for diving as nylon clamps.

But they sure do look pretty (especially in chrome like on a Voit 50 Fathom with the painted blue cans).

They clamp well, but they mess up hoses. I have them on my DX, but they are not my favorite things in the world. I actually prefer guarded worm gear clamps to tinnermans, but those are even uglier.
