UDT fins

Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:33 am

We have not had a fin thread in a while. I just noticed that Dan (vss) has the UDT Super Duck Feet back in stock. I got a pair from him several years ago because the gum UDT model I had long turned to powder and the strap broke. The for real UDTs are kinda hard to find. I don't think they will ever catch on with the casual diver but these fins can make serious thrust. Gotta wear fins socks with them though. I left mine sitting on the deck of my boat while I was gearing up and when I put those darn things on they burned the top of my feet--BAD  and I could not get themback off :P . I jumped in the water to cool them off but it was to late--I had actual blisters by the time the dive was over. If I could afford the 75 bucks Iwould get me a spare pair but heck, if these last another twenty years why will it matter. I already got a spare set of Super Jets for when ScubaaPro finally stops makingthem any day now.

Have never used the UDT feet, I use apollo splits, but have always found them intriguing. Major deternt is finding a pair that would fit my small foot inside my big dry suit boots  .

The Giant UDT Duck Feet are great. I use them about half the time; the rest of the time it's the A66 Viking fins. Can't say which I like better. It's awesome that Dan has brand new production Duck Feet in stock.
I plan to get a pair so I can save all the wear and tear on my early '60s set..
Quick Robin, to the Voitmobile!
