U.S.Navy SEALS in SAN DIEGO

Mon Sep 14, 2009 10:44 pm

Just received a copy of recently published 127 page book by Cdr.Michael P.Wood(ret) in which he examines the beginnings, trainning and operations of the UDT and SEAL teams in the San Diego area through photographs provided by individual frogs and SEALS and the archives of Naval Special Warfare Commabd historian and the UDT/SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce,Florida.

Mike served as part of the SEAL,UDT and SEAL velivery teams from 1969 both as enlisted and as an Officer, retiring in 2003 as a U.S.Navy Cmmander after 34 years.

recommanded for vintage equipment gazers.

I picked it up off Amazon. Good book. One section speaks to the origin of seal team 1,2,3,4,5,and 7. I think thats how you can tell its the real thing.
“A skin diver is a fellow who pulls on a pair of fancy swimming trunks, some rubber fins, a diving mask and canvas gloves, then fills his lungs with air and noses down into the ocean looking for two fisted trouble.”
