Tue Jan 21, 2014 3:04 am

I read BACK IN THE DAY..... often now...
Just how long is BACK IN THE DAY?
I have read on some post that back in the day was five years ago, other post 20 years others there is no time associated with the phrase but rather and even back in the days when they were certified

Pray tell how long ago is BACK IN THE DAY???????????

It depends somewhat on how old you are! :|
The older I get the better I was.

Therefore if you are six months old "back in the day" was last June? or September?

If you are 50 where is back in the day?

How about 60? 70? 80?

I would consider back in the day a time period when you first became involved in a specific activity. For me and diving it would be the 1950's.

Hey LSU Hombre,
According to your explanation the term "Back in the Day" only applies to the UW world.

You would never state "Back in the day when I married Carroll"...Or me "Back in the day when I married Betty". We must remember our wives are eternally young.

By the way did you see the article written by Marty Snyderman about me in the October issue of Dive Training?

Cheers from Kaliforna
