Things are always changing at VDH.....

Sun Jan 01, 2012 12:40 pm

For 2012 I am making a move that I have needed to do for a long time. The shopping cart system for VDH was built many years ago on free software that is supported by a large on line community. It has served me well but our current website administrator has convinced me to improve the store layout. I currently deal with two different cart systems between my local store and VDH. The stores will now be combined so you can by all the vintage gear I have always offered and or modern gear for gifts or any non vintage converted friends. If you would like to take a look at the store you can see what the new layout looks like. Feel free to comment good, bad or ugly.....
Everyone will be required the re-register for the store when you make your first purchase. Here is the link to the store....It's running in the Tampa Scuba Service site now but will be integrated into VDH as soon as it's ready.

NEW WEBSITE STORE

I like it alot. Bet this will make things easier for you, and for people like me who's LDS is 1150 Mi. away. A search function would be great if possible to streamline shopping for specific parts.

I'm sure there is a search function for the customer side because there is one on my side for adding items. It is not configured for use yet so I expect the site admin has to add or activate it. There is still a ways to go and I expect some growing pains for a while.

I like it and looks easy to use. Good to be able to order modern gear in the same order as well.

You're in Chicago and your LDS is 1150 miles away??? I really need an air compressor!! I'm only about 120 miles from you. For that matter, consider coming up to the Port Washington area and I'll get you out diving!

Yep. My LDS is in Wesley Chapel Florida. It's a bit of a ride. Thank God for the USPS. I would Absolutely consider comming up for a wreck dive over the summer. We usualy take 1 or 2 trips north a year anyway. We run a 28ft RV for our rolling Ramada. Dont forget we have some pretty good Lake Michigan diving down here too. Always looking for a double hose buddy.

Looks good Bryan, and it appears that it will be easier and faster to locate any items we are searching for to purchase. Things just keep getting better at VDH! Terry

I like it!

Are there plans to integrate Rob's stuff into the store? It would certainly make things easier for customers. Also, I like the one stop shop idea. I really enjoy it on other pages.

I thought it better to simply give Rob, Allan, Herman and a few others an expanded place to showcase their items without actually warehousing and being responsible for their merchandise. I hope that the direct links to their sites and or E-mail will make things easier.

Site looks great and I will def be updating my tools. I have a couple more on the drawing board and if the USP man will get here, I think I have another useful tool coming soon.
