Wanted to introduce myself

Hello all,

I'm new to the VDH and just wanted to say hello before I jumped in and started posting like a mad man.

First, let me say how thrilled I am that I found you all. I have a small collection of vintage gear that I dive occasionally and some some stuff that stays on my wall. But I'm working on getting most of my stuff useable again. I didn't realize how many like minded people there are in the world until I started researching the restorationof Healthways double hose regulator. When I get photo bucket installed, I'll post some pics of the blue hosed beauty.

Second, I am a diver. Used to make my living at it and still work in the field occasionally. I've been diving since I was a teenager and now have more than 20 years under my belt. I hope I can add to your discussion.

And Third... DO you folks have a dictionary? Not sure what RAAM, DRAM and some of the other acronyms mean, but I'll try to learn as I go.

Welcome aboard! Be sure and read the beginners guide as that will answer a lot of questions right off. The reg ID thing is also very interesting. Heres a quick run down on the acronems. DA = DA Aquamaster RAM = Royal Aquamaster PRAM = Phoenix Royal Aquamaster. There are many threads on the Phoenix nozzle. It was developed by people right here on this site. Add the Phoenix to a DA or a RAM and it becomes a balanced regulator with 3 LP ports and 3 HP Ports. It will also convert the reg it's used with so it can be used with as high as 3500 psi service. No more three way on the hooka port or banjo fitting required. A big advantage for those of us who routinely dive cold water. Again welcome aboard.

I was in Kodiak a few years ago while fishing out West. It was the only time I have ever golfed and as you may know, when they say bunker on the Kodiak golf course, they literally mean a "BUNKER". It's a great place, can't wait to go back and visit friends(mostly Coasties.)

Anyway, thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I've read the FAQ's and the beginners guide and I must say, I find the Explorer Package VERY inviting....

I'm still researching the Healthways project and I will get back to you when I know more. Looks like parts for a '58 or '59 Healthways are going to be hard to find.

I also have a set of twin 72's with a 1/2" pt manifold that is dated 1963. I still use them with my modern regs, but of course am looking forward to the day I get my two hose working.
