Turkey is almost burned enough, and the mashed potato trough has been set out for a traditional family dinner here. I can say that - I'm the cook. Happy Thanksgiving to all from New Mexico.

Son and daughter, Ginny's mom and sister over for dinner, along with everyone's dogs (7 - a veritable pack!) to let them run around the yard. Filet mignon for 7 on the grill, roast potatoes, snow peas, pecan pie or brownies, bourbon, champagne for those who imbibe. No long hours in the kitchen, more time to talk with family or even watch a little football AND plan the next dive trip.

Now for all those left overs...

My wife Betty prefers turkey sandwiches with a gob of jelled cranberry
I prefer turkey sandwiches with a copious amounts of mayonnaise.

Side bar-- While in USAF after the Korean war I lived off base. I discovered the PX was selling GI surplus cranberry sauce at 11 cents a can. I purchased several cans and soon discovered that cranberry makes a great topping for toast and soon became addicted and still am!
So while the cans of cranberries are still on sale I will stock up for the rest of the year.
