Bonne Terre Mines MO.

Does anyone have any experiance diving at Bonne Terre Mine? A local dive group is planning a trip in Jan. It may be one my only chances to dive over the winter unless it's as mild as last year was. Of course if I go, I will want to dive my Phoenix HPR but, from what I have read about the managment of the mine on another board it may be an issue.

Don't know about Bonne Terre other then what I've read about in other forums. But in winter, the only change is in the approach. You need a bunch of divers, an ice saw and some ropes. Don't forget the hot chili and cold beer for after the dives. We dive 12 months up here. No sweat...... literally.

I took my Phoenix there in January of 2010, and dove it throughout my trip. No problems as long as you have an octo and a spg. There was a diver from Chicago using a modern Mistral the same trip, and neither of our rigs raised an eyebrow. I dove with a drysuit and power inflator equipped bcd so I was utilizing the Phoenix to the max. I also took along a similarly equipped single hose as backup but did not dive it.
Too DAAM Many double hoses, It's not a hobby, it's an addiction.
