Glad to hear you are fine also and your family. New Yorkers are tough but that was quite a storm. The pictures of the damage are scary.cheeko8080 wrote:Hey guys, I live in New York City. The situation is really bad for some not too bad for others. I lucked out and my particular neighborhood didn't get anything too bad. Many of my friends live closer to the water and are completely flooded out. Our public transportation system is basically out of commission for at least a couple more days it seems. Lots of the subways are flooded up to the platforms. The city and government seem to have handled it as best as possible and preparation was under way well in advance, which was huge. A huge section of Manhattan will be without power for a few days but that isn't the worst thing in the world in the range of what could potentially have happened. I live in Queens and one of the towns a little bit away from me suffered from a fire that burned down between 80 and 100 homes sadly. Luckily with the response teams and everything overall there was very little loss of life. It looks like most things are attempting to return to activity again tomorrow. We'll see how well that goes with so much of our transportation system down. My family lives in south New Jersey which actually was much closer to the center of the storm and had much more extreme wind conditions, but because it was not on the shore and it wasn't a major city it doesn't seem to have suffered as much damage overall.
