How to post pictures

Sun Nov 07, 2010 12:54 pm

Most people use photobucket to host pictures on the site. It's free and super easy to upload your pictures to.......After you have your pictures loaded in photobucket all you need to do is highlight the link below the picture (see photo below) right click COPY or COPY LINK and then paste the link into the post on VDH you are creating or replying to. BE SURE to use the IMG CODE link or the photo will not show up. Using this link will automatically create the picture in your post....I used the exact technique to post the picture below......

Done deal my friend. I believe I was using the Html code but for some reason I thought I was using too much memory space on your website. Until next time, best regards.

By using photobucket we don't use any of the website resources so it keeps things running faster. One thing to remember is to re-size your pictures for web site viewing otherwise you have to scroll side to side to see the whole picture. Use your computer photo program or in photobucket click edit and re-size and choose webpage or 600x800 size 15" monitor and you will have a great post that everyone can see. Really large photos take a long time to load and are frustrating for folks trying to view the forum with slow connections. Hope this helps.

Big Brother is giving me fits! :x

So, my employer has now blocked access to Photobucket, Flicker, Snapfish,Usendit, and a bunch of other handy hosting sites... To make things worse, my system at the house is so old and out of date, Photobucket has now upgraded itself to the point that it wont talk to my poor little computer... Just hangs up the minute I say Hello, the stuckup Bastard! There is the Wife's computer... but I find it best to just stay clear of "her things."

So... is there a way to post photos off of a link from Facebook or something/somewhere else my low-tec self can manage??? :?

For the price of a DA with a Phoenix and new hoses installed, you can get a nifty lap top that'l run anything you want. I use an ancient Power Mac for most of my video and picture stuff, but if I want to do web stuff, I use my Window's 7 laptop that I bought last year. $499.00 before the tax man.

I purchased a year old HP laptop with win 7 home edition for $150.00 and 30 day refund or exchange from a local store that advertises on Craigslist. I need one in the shop to process credit cards and to keep up with stuff while I'm working.
