Re: What are we up to now?

While diving with the mouthpiece it never tried to close on it's own even with a good amount of surge and water movement. There is also a 3rd O-ring that I don't have on it that was designed to cause friction and insure positive open or closed position. I don't have it on the sample as it was not necessary.

I was opening it all the way in the video...I think it looks a little different because the sample material has reacted to the O-ring and lubricant and left residue on the clear material. The production will be made from ABS and this wont' happen.

Yeah... that makes sense, that is what I am seeing.

Nice!
Some bugs to work out especially if you want to hit the RB crowd, but solid.
I went with a post design but this looks just as effective.

My first idea was based around the Hope Paige mouthpiece design. I wanted to avoid the mouthpiece outlet in the center that sticks out and blocks downward vision like the original USD straight mouthpiece does. The HP and curved USD mouthpieces have the bulk of the body below and a little behind your field of vision. With a lot of help from Tom we got one working but it was not the solution I really wanted...

We currently have 4 or 5 projects in the works and juggling them all at one time is challenging. We get a better price if we let the rapid prototype folkd do a couple of parts at once. When they get the revision of the DSV they will be doing some other new parts. Drawings were just about ready to send out and then I came up with another idea for one of the parts that I didn't think we could live without so I set the process back a bit. Rest assured there is a lot of work going on at the VDH Area 51.
