Look what I found at a local estate sale

I noticed that a local estate sale mentioned "old scuba gear," so I decided to wander over and take a look. I found a whole table full of overpriced gear.

The tanks were all in very good condition, but I doubt anyone around here would inspect or fill aluminum tanks that old. I may end up making them a lowball offer for parts, like the manifolds and valves, if they don't sell this week. They were asking for $75 for an old USD Aquarius, which is nuts.

I see that occur a lot. Most LDS sell their products higher than what you can get them for on line. When the owner's get tired of their poodle jackets and TUSA regs and try to sell the stuff later it goes for more than you can buy new gear for.

Even an Aquarius they think has to be worth a lot just because it is scuba equipment.
I buy a ton of older gear but I pass by a lot of it just because it is over priced.

Yeah, I picked up a nice dive bag for a buddy that was priced ok. For the rest, I told them to call me if/when the sale is tapering off and they still have SCUBA gear, and I might make an offer.
