Here are the tools I use. Tom's nippers/cutters etc are more refined than mine and I am sure work more smoothly. The Vice Grips I ground down with a round Dremel bit and I crimp each clip a little at a time adjusting the pressure slightly. Usually twice around gets them tight enough....

To help prevent marring the sides of the clips during removal I ground the tips of a pair of ViseGrips smooth. They still hold the clips firmly enough to remove them, an no more ugly grooves and scratches in the clips.

Now I'll customize another pair of VG's with the curved shapes for installation... thanks for the great idea.
The older I get the better I was.
