If you need anything from the wares of the SCUBA museum please email me and I may be able to bring it to the NASH. Do not email me the day before as it will not be in NASH if you do.

This includes but is not limited to green and gray goods, FX cans, FX regs, and shirts.

Our water temperatures dropped a bit between Sunday, October 3rd and Thursday, October 7th after four cold nights. We went from being comfortable in a 3mm to freezing in a 3mm. Did Nashville have the same cold spell? What are your current water temps? Thanks, SL

I don't know exactally, but they're plenty good enough.

I'm planning on one deeper (only ~50') suit dive, and one shallower shorts & tshirt dive. Maybe a third splash around dive. We shall see what the group is up for.

There have been some cooler nights the last week or 10 days or so, but the days have been mid 80's & low 90's. Weather is very very quick to change in Nashville, and also VERY localized. I live 26 miles from my office, and this morning left the house in sun, drove through 2 entirely seperate storms, and arrived at work in blazing sunshine again. Who knows, it may be snowing by Saturday, but I'm going anyway!!!

You must come, or else.

The dives are this Saturday. We are very proud to have so many vintage divers from around the USA here. This is going to be a wonderful day. :D :D

Anyone bringing a scooter? There seems to be an ongoing debate in Indy, that these young pups who dive with me need a scooter to keep up with me. For the record, I call it "slicing through the water."

Just curious if we can do some benchmarking this weekend..

That sounds like quite a challenge to me! I definitely need a scooter to keep up with Rob, but we don't have one. I volunteer to be the time keeper if there are any races held.

Met a very nice fellow at the LDS this afternoon who is the proud owner of a perfect & beautiful NIB snark III, that I had eyeballed many times, but wasn't quick enough on deciding to go and get for myself. He said he was a DH'er back in the day and I told him about the site here and the gathering on Saturday. Seemed pretty interested, so our merry little band may be up to 8, and counting!

Well,… D-day is fast approaching. T-18hrs.

If anyone else is thinking about showing up that hasn’t chimed in yet here, please grab your mask and head on down, up, or over as the case may be. We’d love to have you.

The plan, loose as it is, is to show up at the quarry at 9ish and Dive, Eat, and tell stories until we’re all tired of looking at each other.

Martha’s quarry is in the town of Martha TN, ¼ mile SW of the intersection of hwy 70 & rt 109. That’s about 20 miles E of Nashville, and 5 miles W of Lebanon, TN.
If you google map it and turn on the aerial photo option, you can’t miss the quarry.

The weather is outstanding today and should hold right through the weekend.
Mid 70’s and not a cloud to be seen anywhere.

So pack your rhinestone snorkel, and come Vintage Dive Nashville!

Good diving to you all. It's nice to see another vintage dive happening. Take an extra reg and BP if you have one, you never know when you might get someone who would like to give it a try.

I gotta change that avatar...

Thanks to Fred for the invite and the great idea. Thanks to Steve for the grub, YUM. Thanks to Gary for the Video work and making us all look bad with his best of the best vintage gear. Thanks to Barb and Becky for making the place look prettier than it would with just us ugly guys.

We had a great time and the rock crusher building was not a disapointment. So many times I have gone to places that supposedly had "buildings" in them only to be disapointed big time. It was UBER cool to swim thorugh and explore the stairwells, cogs, gears, conveyor belts, electrical station, and multitude of floors in the building. I would have liked some better viz(today was 10 to 15), but I think I would come back again to explore more of the quarry.

My only regret is that I could not find Fred's lot weight belt.
