FX 50 Fathom w/Mistral Guts

Tue Dec 22, 2015 4:53 pm

Hey all,

When putting the mistral guts into one of Rob's FX 50 fathoms do you try to clock it so the nozzle points down the inhale tube or do you just use the pin to have it clocked completely opposite of it?

I got it up and running and took it diving this morning, it seemed to breathe fine with the nozzle pointing away from the inhale horn but I'm not sure if I'm missing something.

You want to point the nozzle towards the horn to get any venturi assistance. Sometimes the venturi can be too strong (if it points straight down the horn) and you have to point it slightly to the side, but still into the hose horn.

You definitely want to take advantage of the venturi flow in this regulator.

Ok so just ignore the pin then and set it towards the horn then.

Yes, or get it to where you like/want it then drill another hole in the can so you can use the pin and you can easily return the nozzle to the same position.

Wow what a difference! Breathes even better than my other mistral.
