US Divers DH stamped NOTS

Thu Aug 29, 2019 2:45 pm

Hello everyone.
I recently got a double hose regulator where the front and back cans are stamped NOTS.
I’m kinda hoping this stands for Navy Ordnance Test Station as they provided divers for SeaLab. Has anyone seen one stamped like this? I’ll post a pic tonight.

To make it more interesting, I just checked and magnets do not stick to it.
Having a hard time finding info on the web. Anybody seen markings for the non-magnetic cans?

All regulators are non magnetic since they do not contain any ferrous ( steel) metal. The Navy takes it to the extreme and has them certified non magnetic. Yours is not a Navy non magnetic although it may or may not have been used by the Navy. Only EOD required the use of non magnetic everything.

Could that just be a person's name?? It does say "I'm WB Nots". I haves seen a number of them with stickers, paint or scratch marks to identify the owner.

Probably.
But it’s fun to dream.
