DH in Curacao for Thanksgiving...

Thu Nov 22, 2018 8:36 pm

Took my '58 Phoenix/HPR this week to Curacao (they are getting used to me as I was there last April). Actually having the DM/guides defending me now....

Pictures later, reserving a place to discuss further.

Apparently, the FB page has some images already (The Dive Bus). Good folks!

Hope y'all had a great time in Curacao. I've never been there, and wondering how the diving compares to other places. How about shore access?
The older I get the better I was.

Practically all the shore dive spots are sandy beach walk-ins, with dive operations available at the sites. There likely are small fees to use the facilities. With the dive op I use, I assume it is in the fee structure I pay.....

The attached picture is a "typical" access:

Google:

Playa Porto Marie, Curacao
Playa Lagun, Curacao
Pier Baai, Curacao
Tug Boat, Curacao
Playa Pickado, Curacao
Kokomo Bay, Curacao

Look at the imagery.......

There is also an interactive dive site map for Curacao somewhere on the www....

I've only been beach diving in Curacao and it is great. When I was leading trips to Bonaire in the 70's we would always plan for at least a day to dive Curacao on the way home. Stopped in on a cruise about 10 years ago and did a beach dive again. Luv it.
