Vintage Double Hose

I'm refurbishing an old 71.2 tank I had laying around for decades. Pulled off the the old piece of junk Healthways valve and noticed threads on the inside of the air outlet. Not familiar with these valves. Was there some sort of insert at some point in time? Maybe its normal and common but I had never notice that before.

If memory still serves me... that valve was designed for the Healthways, Air- Flo, 1st stage regulator[ the first " din" type in the very early 1970's ]

That's it. I have to valve and the Tank pressure checker....still trying to get on of the regs.

YES...that's the AIRFLO regulator.....did not sell well for Healthways....I worked for New England Divers] 70-77 ] in the Beverly, Mass store...huge mail order dept and retail store... not too many of those regulators passed thru that facility

One of the things I love about this forum is that I get to see equipment I've not even heard of. This particular Heathways item is a good example. Approximately when would this regulator have been on the market?

Always amazes me where things lead. One day I'm noticing threads in an old valve and a little while later all the way across the country, Herman is looking at getting the part that fits that valve. 6 degrees of separation in practice. Anyway, I found this little diagram of the Airflo 1st stage and thought I'd share. Mark

That's the epitome of a simple regulator. I have only seen one in person in all my diving years. I have a Healthways J-Valve for it, now if I could find good Airflow reg (cheap, that is) I would take it diving.

Seems like they were about 29.95 at K-Mart.

Hopefully I will have a working first stage soon, Snarklll has sold me one, if anyone finds a second stage I am in the market. Here are some photos of the complete reg and accessories. The accessories are mine, I borrowed the reg a while back to study, thinking I might make the first stage. I forgot the reg also had a special dust cap. It looks like most others but was threaded so it could be threaded onto the reg. The one in the photo was one I modified to work with the reg.
