Valve Knob Retainer Screw Driver

Tue Oct 04, 2016 3:12 pm

Time to start taking things apart. Having done my homework, I read a very informative article on the rebuilding of valves. In it was a photograph that included this tool. What I'm wondering is: is this a homemade tool or does it exist in this form (or similar) in a retail environment where I may purchase one.

OR

What do you use to remove the knob retainer?

One from Trident and two home fabrications. One works a good as the other.

Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

Looks like I could take a standard flat tip screw driver (the wider the better) and notch it with a Rotozip.

Thanks, Bryan.

Before I had one of these: http://www.northeastscubasupply.com/bc-valve-tool/ I used a modified(straightned claw) brad nail puller https://www.google.com/search?q=brad+na ... UlWprZM%3A
