Phoenix yoke thread

Tue Mar 25, 2014 7:24 pm

Pick up a used Phoenix ser. # 12-XXX
and have been playing.

Found that the yoke threads are not the same as on my other 2 w/ ser # 07-XXX and 09-XXX.

So the standard Conshelf yokes and din adapter will not work.

Maybe it's just this computer illiterate SOB,
but could not find any mention of this.

Will the new yoke nut fit?

Thanks
Scott

All Phoenix 1st stages were designed to use Conshelf yokes. The majority of them came with Conshelf yokes from AL. Luis,Herman and I were just discussing the unusual pitch of the threads recently.....
If you have time and want to send it to me I'll be glad to check it out and see what's what....If a die is necessary there may be some chrome loss on the threads. You can either keep it rinsed carefully or I'll get it Cerakoted for you if you give me time.
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

Bryan,

The yoke that came with it fits with no play.

A Conshelf yoke doesn't come close to being able to fit.

The Phoenix yoke is very sloppy on Conshelf threads.

I will get it in the mail to you.

Thanks
