I had a brand new unopened/unused DSV tucked away and when I unpacked it, I have the following:

Surprised me...

I just took a look at another one, which has been in use for a few years, and it too appears to have a (single) crack at the same location..

Unusual to see a crack propagating from a hole, normal engineering practice is to drill a hole at the end of a crack to stop it spreading!
What does it look like inside?
Maybe caused by a 'cold shut' where two fronts of molten plastic cool a bit too much and fail to bond together during the injection moulding process?
Under tension from the o-ring compression could potentially cause a crack to grow over time in storage?

Yikes! Maybe we should all give our DSV's a thorough inspections before resuming use.
