Which character are you?
"The diver who collects specimens of underwater life has fun and becomes a keen underwater observer. .. seek slow-moving or attached organisms such as corals, starfish, or shelled creatures." (Golden Guide to Scuba Diving, 1968) :D

Scuba noir. Of all the dive boats in all the ports in all the world, she walks onto mine.

I hesitate to ask which "strange animal pleasures" is the world's greatest diver "Frenchy" a connoisseur of? :)

Like Ross Perot said, "buy the book". (It may answer your questions)

The author, Clay Blair, Jr., was also the Editor of the Saturday Evening Post and a friend of Robert Marx. Clay Blair, Jr. wrote "Diving for Pleasure and Treasure" (published 1960) which was one of my favorite diving books as a kid. Still have my copy (see below).

That book got me interested in exploring the area between Akumal and Tulum in Yucatan which I have done extensively, both off-shore (including the wreck of the Mantanceros) and the cenotes. Amazing what peaks the interest of kids. :)

I have heard tales of love blossoming on Live-aboards... not sure if they are true. Also I hear that marriages performed by the Captain are valid only for the duration of the voyage, which sounds like a good idea.
