Help ID a Conshelf second

My buddy Steve was interested in buying an old metal conshelf second stage to use as an octo. He saw one on ebait that peaked his interest. The seller did not know what model and when asked he said the label just said conshelf octopus. So I told him I know some folks who would be able to ID it. I think it's a Conshelf XI, I don't know much about that model. I have a supreme, which I still use. If it's an XI is it a good workhorse reg or should he pass?

Thanks

Doug

That is a 1085 USD 2nd stage. Used with almost every 1st stage since the Conshelf 11 and is still in use.
The only difference between the stock 1085 and an Octopus 1085 was a slightly stiffer spring in the Octopus. If I remember correctly the spring had a red mark on it.
The 1085 is about as reliable and bullet proof as they come.

The 2nd stage that came on the Conshelf VI and other earlier 1st stages had a different front cover, a 26mm exhaust valve and an exhaust T that screwed on.

Thanks Bryan,

I assume you have the necessary service parts for this reg. I will let my friend know, if he doesn’t jump on it, I might to use with my Phoenix (when I get one).

The exhaust tee appears to be installed upside down.
Hot water soak will help soften it enough to remove and replace.
Like everyone else says, I also think it is a great reg.
