Vintage Double Hose

I was recently blessed to have my good friend, Jerry Lang, provide me with an early (1966-1967) Scubapro MK1/108 combination. This is a great addition to my growing collection of vintage Scubapro regulators. It is an interesting reg in that it is not the true "first" MK1, as that particular model had a recall. BTW, if anyone has one of those for sale, drop me a line.

Anyway, I thought that I would add some photos of the process of rebuilding the regulator, and offering some interesting (to me, at least) information about the design.

All, in all, a fun project. My collection of AMF Voit/Swimaster regs is getting rather envious of the time and effort I am putting into the Scubapro collection.

your regulator is an original match from 1968. Seems nobody swapped the stages. Very nice....! Thats one of the last Mark I with 108 as they were sold in the following year with 109s.

Congrats on the rebuild! Good Job! I thought I was hot s**t when I rebuilt my MK5/109, but seeing the original edition all shiny and pretty makes me envious. Mark

That's a really good looking reg, especially considering its age. Nice job. I have one of those too, but mine looks its age... ugly.

BTW, the back half of the second stage body came right out of a Healthways part bin. We found that removing one of the exhaust valves on our early Healthways (bought from K-Mart in the mid-60's) resulted in a helpful decrease in exhalation effort.
