SPG made especially for 71.2 tanks.

Tue Feb 25, 2020 8:29 pm

Came across this Swimaster SPG attached to a reg someone gave me. Standard 3000 psi limit but marked off in cu. ft. showing 71.2 cu. ft. at 2475 psi (10% overfill). Kinda cool. Guess they figured folks only used that size steel tank. :)

I like the 250 psi reserve line.

I Got One Too...

- I think mine might have come off a tank checker. I got it off Ebay a week or so ago for $18. Since I use my compressors to fill vintage tanks, my tank pressures are usually 1800 to 2500 psi. The usual new gauges go up to 7000 psi. These give a finer reading for lower pressures.
- Nowadays the attitude is "Oooh... 10% Over... Cave Fill!" And then you see this gauge where they actually printed it right on the gauge. That tells me it was/is an accepted practice.

Thanks, I had forgotten about those. I used to have one. I have no idea where it went. Where all the good things go I guess. Nem

Now you have me wishing I had an SPG just reading cubic feet only!
The older I get the better I was.
