US Divers triple tanks.

Mon Aug 30, 2010 10:16 pm

Well I am a bit on the nervous side, had a chance to buy an old US Divers triple tank setup. Last hydro was back before I was born, always wanted this kind of setup so I went ahead and grabbed it. Its being sent in the as I type. Now I am just hoping they all pass hydro and everything is good on them. If they are it'll be like Christmas for me. Local dive store said they would hydro them for me, so heres keeping my fingers crossed.

Well the tanks came in today. There is a little bit of dirt and couple spots of looks like ceiling Spackle however no scraps or scratches at all! Damn they look better than any used 72 tank I have ever picked up... I am happy!

Just got another set. I am a 3X triple threat! I dive the galvanized set, the blue set is a future project and the black ones will be stripped and returned to the galvanized state and hopefully put into service next year.

Just pray that they aren't idiots that will end up screwing up the manifold trying to remove it from the tanks.

I hope I can manage to disassemble them carefully. They are holding air ok now and hope they will when I am finished with them.

Agreed very nice!! Never seen so many triple setups in one place. How did you manage getting your hands on so many? Lucky or just hunt around?

The blue painted set came from Mr. Logan. He came to Portage Quarry from Fla. and had a bunch of stuff for sale. The black set I just got 2 weeks ago with a ton of other vintage gear. It was left over stuff from a dive store that closed 15+ years ago. There were a set of 38's, double 72's, 2 single 72s, 10 doublehose regs, and some literature. A good score. He kept 1 heavy yoke RAM and the Viking. I will get them some day.
