I went vintage equipment diving with our local dive club today. A buddy and I logged 2 dives, each to 100 feet for 30 and 32 minutes respectively. I used a steel 72 each time with EAN34 (MOD 102 FSW), a US Diver's NAVCON VI, USD kam ez pack, USD weight belt, USD Aquamaster snorkel, USD master knife, USD horsecollar, a VDH SPG,a Shearwater Perdix dive computer, original model Espadon Tarzan jet fins (pre-Scubapro), a Cressi Pinocchio mask, and a dive watch. Water temps were 50F even, so my 5mm open cell freediving wetsuit is about to be retired for a spanking new 7mm Elios sub one. I'll post a review of that guy when I get it from Italy. Visibility in Puget Sound was about 15-20 feet today, and the seals (not the kind with M4s) were out playing while we went diving. I taught buddy breathing for a bit and then ate an entire pizza because I was freaking frozen

Cue self-aggrandizing dive picture:

Do you notice any increase in exhalation effort at 100' cause the NAVCON has the smaller size exhaust valve?

I thought it was just as good a breather as a modern conshelf. My air consumption was the same too. I really like it.

Fine, you are getting invited to the next one but then you have to hang out, eat food with the dive club, and not show anybody other than your wife your junk. We are going to wait until my new wetsuit gets here though.

Ron,

You look like a UDT [clone] diver, circa 1970.

Very nice rig!
