Local dive club sees vintage gear (and vintage diver)

A local dive club in Wilmington, NC hosted me for another show and tell Sunday night. In addition to the usual slide show and donning of equipment for those "Kodak" moments, I let them disassemble a couple of my regulators to see how they worked. It was a fun event until I asked them to put the units back together - At least I got all the parts back!

Well done!
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

Old gear looks so much better man. New stuff looks so cheesy to me. It's like putting a Prius next to a 65 Mustang.

I agree! New stuff is pure cheese. Since I don't own a boat, I'm usually forced to take a charter on a cattle boat when I want to do some wreck diving offshore. All the other divers are dressed like astronauts with every accessory you can imagine, particularly the ones new to the sport. Typically diving without a wetsuit draws some strange looks but my red hose Kraken makes me look like the red-haired stepchild!
