New XS Brand 1/2" Tapered Thread Valves
- I was surprised to see XS Scuba is now offering NEW Scuba valves with the 1/2" Tapered thread. It says right in the description that they seal with Teflon tape. Definitely some sort of testimony to the number of tapered thread steel cylinders that are still in service and useful. - Check it out at

But,,,,,, what about the lds theory of them blowing out due to small threads. Even though every regulator hanging on their wall comes with one to two 7/16 threaded openings rated for 3400psi.
