Best way to ship a steel 72 ?

I have a steel 72 I will be listing in the FS section of this forum. What's the best way to ship using USPS? Would it be better to ship UPS, or Fed Ex? I'm thinking someone will pick it up within the states. Obviously, if someone lives in SO CAL, then local pickup would be easier for everyone.

I suppose just wrapping it up in some bubble wrap and throwing some styrafoam bubbles into a long box should do, correct?

Regards,
Gonzalo

What ever way you decide to ship it, drain it and pull out the valve. They all seem to like standing tanks on end and broken valves are common. New tanks are never shipped with the valves installed. Steve

This! I would use UPS, I have never lost a tank yet with them so far. Your mileage may vary.

Hi

I had a guy put a label on a bare tank without a valve, no box. I think they treated it ok. Pulling the valve is best but if you can not you should box the empty tank with a short length of 2-3 inch pvc pipe over the valve. You can also make a strong tube of cardboard that works almost as well if it is thick enough.
