Trapezus,

Thank you for the reply. I am going to use Mobile Jet II turbine oil which has a viscosity of around 10w. Highly recommended by Jim Sheldon/Compressor Yahoo group. How did you fabricate the rear splined 5/8" shaft to adapt pulley for engine drive?

Thanks

Steve,
Shaft is original I bought it from aircraft wrecker but our craftsmen are doing the same. Pulley is Turkish
there is a bearing middle of the pulley I changed it last 10 years ago ..
The absence of material made us well versed :)
imported items very expencive but manual labor is cheep in here..
my Kidde's working 35 years without problem.. and all filters are Kidde too..
I have friends that are running with gasoline engine ..
I think vibration can cause damage to Kidde because of I use electric motor
My Kidde's are like my family lived a long life with me :)

Hi scubasteve59,
I saw an old curiosity when I read the writings on the site of old compressors..
I have read and I really enjoyed..
If you have or can find a Kidde compressor I'll help you with spare parts such as shaft ..I donn't that considering the money trade..If you have a Kidde the shaft is gift from me..
I think the tusk should be protect these old compressors as twin hoses..
My friends have some smaller and low speed Kidde's..I introduce them.
Gives me great pleasure to see the compressor is running a former military
It does not matter which country is the product of..
I asked to one of them why waiting for a long time to fill a 80 tank.. he said sounds like a lullaby to me.. I think it is a good phrase to describe the value we provide to them..
regards

Trapezus,

Thank you for the kind offer. I had a Kidde but let the compressor head go to another collector who needed it more than I do. (I have a working Rix SA6). If I find another Kidde I will certainly give you a shout for the spline adapter.

Kind Regards,

Steve
