Vintage Double Hose

I could not make to Wazee this year so took a few days to dive my favorite lake in San Marcos, TX. New dive rules callled for a fluorescent yellow spandex suit for better vis. See the photos and ask yourself. Would you be willing to suit up like a giant bananna just to dive your doublehose?

The yellow suit is for real. The lake is an endangered species habitat now owned by a state university. It used to be a big amusement area called Aquarena until the state bought it. The university still runs the glass bottom boats for visitors. All divers in the lake are volunteers and have to have permission to dive and are assigned tasks to do while diving. It is easier for both the boat drivers and visitors to see the divers. Both the diving and air fills are free for volunteers.

You did notice that your pressure gauge or something around your left side seems to be leaking?

What type of harness or BC is that?

No fishoboy, I don't think he is kidding, further proof that the country has gone insane. I guess I won't dive there, I prefer to select my own outfits.

I didn't notice the leak until I saw the photos..not sure what it was. I hardly ever put air in the bc and my seaview guage seemed ok, although it was the first time I used an aluminum 80 at 3000psi with that guage. I am using an old orange scubapro bc. Max depth in that part of the lake was about 20 ft.

Must be a fantastic place to dive... you would never catch me in yellow spandex (outside the house of course)

Just out of curiosity, do they issue you the yellow suit cover, or did you have to purchase it?

They provide the suits which all were just a little small for this 6 ft 200 lb guy. Add a full 5mm suit for the 71 deg water and it was a tight fit!
