Okay my vintage hose brothers. I note tehr are two versions of the RAM overhaul procedures. One covers old square labels, the other newer round labels.
There are some slight variations between the two. is it safe to use the new RAM procedures for setup etc with a square label. Is this only a mater of updated tecdhniques which can be used for both, or are each reg and variant unique requiring their own overhaul and setup techniques.

As best I can tell comparing my square label to my round label RAMs there are no internal differences and since I have mostly parts from Bryan in them I set tem the same way. I have not made an exhaustive comparison and taken measurements but I do not recall any noticeable differences. I don't see any physical reason that a round label should out perform a square label with the same rebuild kits in them. Does anyone know different, pleae explain.

If you look at the part numbers I believe for the most part they are the same. I am referring about seats, springs, etc., of course not the yoke and yoke screw.
The different manuals may have slightly different procedures as newer techniques might have been developed, but IMHO they both should apply to either.
Can you point me specifically to which manuals and sections are you referring to?

The retaining nut for the LP stem and seat has you turn it to the bottom then turn it out a quarter turn and line up a vent hole with the hookah port. The new RAM does not include some of this info.
Also the differnce i think in IP set points. Minore stuff really, but wondering if it was because new techniques came along or if because the old ones were designed to be set up that way.
Vintage diving does make for many questions
