Options for Spiro Mistral

Mon Sep 19, 2016 8:21 pm

Hey

I just picked up a Spiral Royal mistral off of the "bay". Been eying one for a long time and super happy that I was able to pick it up.

So, now what are my options for being able to actually dive this thing in regards to the nozzle size?

I take it that you already attempted to mate it with a US tank valve and came up about a millimetre or so too big in its diameter?!? If that is the case, you will have to have the body tank connection nozzle turned down to the correct size. I am assuming that it is a yoke type connection and not a DIN. I did this to a 58 "Mistral" and it worked out great.

That's on the list swimjim.

As far as having the nozzle turned down, what should I tell a machinist to do?

Tell the machinist to turn it down to 0.707", If you want to have it chromed after turning it down have him turn it to 0.705"

To clarify, Captain is referring to dimension “R” on the nipple as shown in the interface diagram below.

Let me know if the diagram is too small to read.
