Whilst perusing the forum, I've happened upon postings that make reference to something which I'm unfamiliar with. Could some please tell me what a "hope page" mouthpiece is?

I have a model C DivAir that I have set up just like Alan's. I find the hope page to be a very comfortable mouth piece. The real neat thing about it is that if it's a little out of adjustment up or down, you can easily change it while your in the water. The Hope page was OEM on later DivAir and early Healthways regulators.

I have three of them and the great thing is not only can you adjust you angle of bite, but you can replace the bite piece. Too bad no one is making a new version, preferably capable of using Bryan's new food grade silicon hoses hmmm.....?!. The originals are 1 inch diameter fittings and can be used with new EPDM hoses, also available from VDH and the Scuba Museum. They are awesome.

Oh there might be something brewing in the minds and workshops.

Herman is at home right now smiling like a cat that ate the canary... I've shown a few things in other posts recently and on FB....Bonaire in a couple of weeks so who knows what might be seen there?? What I will say is that it will do more than a Hope Page ever could and cost less than $80.00....

The Hope Page concept was good, but the valves are a bit small for good low resistance to flow (it may not be noticeable during relax light breathing).
I use the standard hoses (1.5" ID) with a couple of Hope Page MP by adding a rubber sleeve to take up the gap. I will post pictures latter (like in a week).
The other issue with any of this type of MP is that the extra length of the replaceable byte creates a bit of a moment arm. That combined with the buoyancy of the hoses can become uncomfortable in a long dive. Our new design will address and solve those issues and have other advantages.

Note: Argonaut Kraken owners will get a generous discount on the new mouthpiece. When finished it will come standard on them. Fortunately we have been working on this for a long time as we have a new group interested in the Argonaut and a mouthpiece with some of the key features we have been working on is a requirement for acceptance.

My apologizes to the original poster and Alan for hijacking your thread. Alan, thanks for the picture learning. Makes it easy indeed!

Thank you for all of the responses, guys. Especially to simonbeans for the photos. I can see why people want these things. If someone were to make a version of this with the addition of a shut off valve for the mouthpiece, I'll bet they would sell a boat load of them. And I would be standing in that line, as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I am very excited! This is proof that great minds think alike. Do we have any prototype pictures is yet? I am assuming that these will be in glorious "KRAKEN" red. The HOPE-PAGE in its tan color scheme is a drag. I cannot wait for this to be available!!!

In todays money it would cost over $200.00.......For those who are not aware of it....The Manuals and Catalogs link from the main page contains over 5GB of scanned original information like this for free. Thanks to all who contribute their scans to the site. It is very time consuming and mind numbing scanning catalogs.
