Vintage Double Hose

Hi,
I've two questions to the specialists here:

- Do you have a picture of the inside of an DW Stream Air with the original injector not directly oriented to the intake hose?

- What does it mean, the Kleer E-Z hose or mouthpiece?
I know what it is, but Kleer, is this the name of the inventor, and what means E-Z?

The E-Z is a play on the word Easy....In English saying the letters E Z sounds like the word easy.

I could not find a picture of a Stream Air insides but I'm sure another forum member will post one soon.

What's the difference between the USD DW Mistral and the USD Royal Mistral, out of the plate?
In the french version that's clear, but in the USD version ...?

The paper, US Divers Mistral Family, in the download section that Bryan referenced above does a decent job of discussing the variations in the Mistral group. The basic body internals were the same in the Over-Pressure, Stream Air, Mistral and Jet Airs. When the Royal Mistral was introduced they had to redesign the internals to accomplish a balanced single stage regulator. Unfortunately it was not entirely successful. This image taken from the paper shows the internals. It is not of the best quality however, sorry.


Over-pressure, Stream Air and some of the Jet Airs had the short venturi nozzle. Mistral had a longer one. The Royal had no venturi nozzle as can be seen in these images:








The Royal's main problem comes with the seat. The material does not appear to hold up and most of the regulators encountered today seem to feel flow due to the problematic seat.

Sorry, my German is rusty. The pictures are from my freshly re-furbished and previously un-molested 1956 DW "Stream Air". I know they didn't have red tinnermans clamps but the plasti-cote finish will seal them up for another 58 years. I am tempted to upgrade the nozzle with one of Bryans new Mistral ones, but I think I'll let this one stay. I will eventually get the cans re-chromed as there was a lot of verdigris on the back can interior. Vinegar does wonders for that.

This is what I was looking for, the injector not directed to the intake hose in the StreamAir, my raptures are real but my English is bad.

Ok, we forget the easy mouthpiece of Mr. Kleer
But it's a very interesting information for me that the USD Royal Mistral is a balanced reg. The french RM is not balanced. I've four french RMs in different versions and none is balanced.
I've to catch one from USD. The case is not so nice but if it is balanced,...
