USD Diaphrams

Do the USD double hose regs share the same size diaphram? If so, has anyone looked into having a run of diaphrams made?

They are the same diameter but the Mistral uses a diaphram with a smooth bottom and the DA and AquaMaster have small tabs that ride on the horsehoe lever.
There have been , I think, some reproductions. I have two new diaphrams that I got somewhere, don't remember, and they were supposedly for USD regs but they have a slightly different bead at the circumference and I am afraid they would pop out.

Then it seems to me that a smallish run of diaphrams(maybe 100 or so) without the metal insert would be best. Then, depending on the application, you glue on a tabbed insert or a flat insert. Would there be any interest in this?

I believe early Mistral diphragms did not have the tabs but later USD went with the same diaphragms for both DA and Mistral. The only difference was the tabs weren't bent up when used in the Mistral.

Dan and Ryan had some diaphragms at Wazee last year that they had been experimenting on. Not sure where they are with that project ? To answer you question I would say we could use them for sure! One of the reasons that double hose regulators breathe poorly is that the main diaphragm is too streteched out or had become too stiff. NOS diaphragms are very hard to come by these days.....
