Aqualung Kam EZ Pak pointers...

Greetings,
A purchase in my Vintage quest led me to this. A near perfect Aqualung Kam EZ Pak. I got from Allan.
I have some questions a to it's functions. I have numbered the part that I'm looking for Guidance with. I suspect #2 is a J valve rod holder and #3 is a handle.
Also I'm wondering how reliable they have been as far as the Single strap design.

1 is the finger slot to release the cam and free the tank.
2 is the J rod guide
3 is the handle to carry the rig/tank

No. 1 is the lever to lock down the tank band on your tank. I have a Kam-EZ pack also, but it has a different style of locking lever. No. 2 is the clip to hold your J-rod in place. No. 3 is the carrying handle. Very convenient for toting tanks around!
I use my Kam pack quite a lot, when diving single 72s. I especially like that the Kam pack will accept 80 cu. ft. tanks as well as 72s, which is very handy if you have to use rental tanks. Hope that answered your questions..

Yes, That's what i was looking for. Actually I have one more question.
After you put the tank on and strap it down, Is that when you tighten it to the plate via the wing nut's?

NO, the wing nuts are to adjust to the diameter of the tank and they are usually pulled all the way down, the cam lever is open when you install the tank, then flip the lever down and it draws the band up---just like a modern Dive Rite cam band or Scuba Pro Cam Band.
Kam Eze ---the cam is why it is called a Kam Eze to make installing the tank as easy as flipping the cam lever by inserting your index finger into the hole and releasing it with a pull.

To be clear, you are supposed to adjust the length of the wing nut and screws to a length that allows the cam band to take up enough "slack" to close snug on the tank. The wings nuts adjust for the cam band, the cam band tightens up to secure the tank.

Copy that Red leader! Thanks, I just popped the cam open it was super tight and I wanted to double check. Thanks for the tips...
