Thanks for the interest in our input Bryan! If more vintage dives were scheduled during the year; then hopefully more of us would have an opportunity to attend at least one event. I'm hoping to make it to Portage this year, and am looking forward to seeing many of our group again as well as meeting others for the first time. THANKS again! Terry

I’m doing it for a couple of reasons. 1. To find out if I can put on a large scale Vintage Equipment Diving event. 2. If we can do it and not look like a bunch of modern divers with an exhaust hose on our regulators. If it was 100% my way we would dive J valves, oval masks, black wetsuits, Churchills and 2 hosers and that’s about it. I realize all are not comfortable that way so some concessions are going to have to be made so we can get a lot of group participation. The sponsors of this event are requesting Vintage Equipment Divers period and to the best of my ability that’s what they are going to get! I can promise you this; it will eclipse any previous vintage diving event by a mile. Thanks for all who have taken the survey and in advance to those who have not. Your opinion and input mean a lot to me. Details of the upcoming event will be discussed after supper at SDV and posted as soon as possible.

100% vintage is no problem whatsoever. Just as long as I can substitute Duck Feet for the Churchills, I'm there.. :)

100% vintage is good with me. 100% double hose is good with me. Just because it is a vintage dive (vintage being widely regarded as pre 75) does not mean you could not impose a stricter standard like Pre 66 or Classic SeaHunt only, double hose only, harness only, oval mask only.

I like it, full on vintage, no BCs, noPadI, no scissors, no computers, no nothing you could not find in a catalog in the early 60s or earlier. Bring out the UDTs.

Depending upon when/where this event is held I might not want to wear a 1/4 inch Rubatex wet suit and 14 pounds of lead, even Mike Nelson dove in a swimsuit and T shirt so that is CLASSIC Sea Hunt dive attire. I was thinking UDT shorts, UDT fins and a 50 Fathom T shirt.

I am not sure black wetsuits are vintage dive attire, they were often either abscent entirely or wore only a beaver tail top or if they did have a wetsuit it was grey, blue, yellow or red or orange. Black wetsuits are modern I think--lol.

Never mind me, I am blasphemous, I no longer accept the "low tank" and now here I am questioning if black wetsuits of any sort are vintage in the purest form.

In the mask and fin section I had opted for other vintage selections. However, if this is what you are looking to do I would be more then happy to comply to help the cause.

I am sure that if someone were short an item or two there would be enough to go around, plan in advance so everybody could be properly outfitted per the final plan.

I certainly can help out with extra fins. I have them coming out of my ears!!! I will not, cannot, shall not, share a DM30 DACOR OVAL MASK however! Don't even ask!

The DACOR DM30..... the best darn mask ever made. If you say different we will meet out by the bicycle racks after school!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as they use double hose and oval masks and UDT fins  . Well, hmmmm, on second thought :D .

We could always invite NetDufous along for our safety diver again, scary thought that.
