Vintage Double Hose

I’m not a Voit guy but I know there are a lot of fans on the site….Mr. Pique has spent a lot of time $$$ getting this one restored. It was so nice I even asked for help from one of my mentors just to make sure it performed as good as it looks when putting it all back together. Enjoy!

Got to ask-- does the USD on body indicate that this is a hybrid--1/2 USD and 1/2 Voit -- or did Voit sell the regs with USD parts ?

BINGO! I think the story goes, Voit built all the rubber parts for Voit and USD for a time and USD built all the hard parts.....Just what I have heard, may not be 100% fact. I have never seen a Voit that had the actuall USD stamped on it though.....

I can't wait to borrow that LUNG from William at SD5 this year..... Good times.

I am so Excited about how wonderfull my Voit Lung is looking and working 110% with Bryan's {Perfect Work}. The Re-Chromeing by Bruce Rogers at BAR Plating is really amazing too. ( helpfull note->when sending in your Satin Chrome Parts to be re-done, it is a Very good idea to send in another Satin Part with it that is what You want it to look like, so Bruce can use that part to get the Satin Chrome exactly right for you.) I can hardly wait to get her home and put the Green Hoses and Green Mouthpiece back on her. I will take and put some pictures at my Picture Gallery when she is all back together. Looking so beautifull now and having Bryan do his Re-Build *Majic* on her, this will be my #1 Most Favorite Sea Hunt Regulator out of all the regulators. It is a little expensive, but I truely beleive it is worth every penny. This is the 2 stage Voit Lung and I will be sending my Single Stage Voit Lung Regulator to Bryan next, to try get it all done the same as this beauty is too. Many,many,many "Thanks to Bryan for all the Wonderfull & Professional help he has so kindly done. He is just 1st Class all the way"!!!!!!!

It did turn out very nice…..Like I said, I asked for help from one of my peers in the vintage community when setting it up. The finest parts available went into this regulator even down to an original set of C-clips that had never been on a regulator! I just sent my DA aquamaster cans to Bar. If they turn out that good I won't want to dive it. Lets see, Phoenix mod II, aquamaster re chromed, silicone part this and silicone part that, it will be one fine looking and performing reg. Oh I forgot to mention one of Faux Labels new phoenix lables. It looks great Jerry, just got it yesterday in the mail. Pictures will get posted when it is all here.

Please don't mention green hoses. I've scoured the earth for a set for my Voit Lung, and to no avail. I've found green mouthpieces & green tinnerman clips, but no hoses..

That is awsome! I am going to dive mine at SD V! I can't wait. I will also dive my Kawasaki DA with my Kawasaki tanks if I can get them together and get a harness from Allan.

Yes sir, both Cyndy & I Really would love to come and be with everyone again at Sand Dog V get-together. I have to be more carefull and just use a small light single tank instead of the small twin ones so not to hurt me like before. I always loved the looks of the small Voit White Twin Tanks but found out they are too heavy for me, because of an old back injury and just getting very old now,ha,ha. I think just useing the light small single will be ok. The small yellow tanks I have, surprisingly only weigh 15 pounds each and that is good & light. They must use a higher grade of steel to be able to hold the same amount of air but weigh much less. Of course the tank weighing 0 pounds in the water doesn't hurt. Cyndy can use her small Sportsways Tank cause it worked good for her & did not hurt her last time. On the Voit Lung,I think that, if very carefull, I could & should bring and use it. That sure would bring back wonderfull memories of the Voit Lung I had when I a kid. That 1st one actually was all beat up looking, but it really worked great in diving and I was the only one around sticking to the Double Hose when everyone else wanted the single hose regulator to use. I just loved the Creature Gillman movies. It is really interesting, at website http://www.sptimes.com/2003/11/23/flori ... _ret.shtml there is a lot of information about "The Gillman". It says some things of real interest concerning Ricou Browning, doing all the Underwater Scenes in the 3 Creature Movies. Interestingly, Mr. Browning was the Very 1st Merman back in the 1940s Starting & Starring at Weeki Wachee Springs, helping so much in it's very beginnings. Also, heavily involved in "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea", "Thunderball", "Never Say Never Again", and actually "Creating" the dolphin character & writing the Script for all the "Flipper" Movie and TV Shows & Just All Kinds of cool interesting things about him at the website.

William, we'll be looking forward to seeing you at SD. One thing you might think about is that I'm sure any of us would be glad to carry your tanks into the water for you, and you could put them on there. Then their weight wouldn't be too much of an issue..
When done you could remove them while still in the water and someone could carry them ashore for you, and do any other lifting needed..

That is like super nice for you to offer Jim. "Thank you so much". I should be able to keep the weight very, very, low and then not be a bother to anyone. These small yellow tanks are really surpriseingly light at only 15 #s and I use an aluminum folding dolly to get to the waters edge, so that is a big help without having to carry the tank at all. I just slide them in the water and like you said,put on there, where they have zero weight. It is a different dolly from the one I had used before and is Much better than that one was. This dolly cost like $15 on eBay and it completely folds up flat as a pancake so it can almost fit into a large glove box it seems like,ha,ha. Even the platform folds upward automatically as the wheels fold around to the front and lay flat. The handle is telescopic and locks in the up and also locks in the down position. It reminds me of some of the rolling luggage you see at airports but has bigger wheels. It can hold 2 tanks easily. It has a load carrying rateing of something like 150 #s so it is very strong and very durable. Being aluminum alloy it doesn't weigh anything hardly at all and it has pretty fat wheels on it, so it rolls really really nice & easy with no effort. I will send you a picture of it in a minute that I think I have. The small yellow tank also has the 1/2" straight thread with o-ring seal so inspections and tests are easy for any shop to do. Mainly I just want to be with you all and have a wonderfull time there.
