Long Yoke for a Mistral

I've been wanting to use a long yoke with my mistral so I could use a banjo, but haven't been able to find 1. I recently tried the yoke from a conshelf VI. It seems to work ok, but I'm wondering if this is a good idea. Has anybody done this in the past?

I use one of Bryans one size fits all stainless banjos with mine. Works great. Might be easier and cheaper then tracking down a long yoke.

Currently, Brian doesn't have any long yokes for a mistral. In fact, I think he's out of all yokes, except for yoke screws. Plus, the yokes he shows are for a royal or a DA. They won't work on a mistral.

The conshelf yoke seems to work, but I think there's a little more play in it. It may just be my imagination. I think I'll take it apart & compare the openings. I was mainly wondering if anyone else had tried this in the past.

I have a conshelf IV on my Mistral and it there have been no problems. So far the deepest it's been is 75'.

Bsea, I think Swimjim was suggesting acquiring the thin stainless BANJO that Bryan has.

Otherwise, a long yoke off a Conshelf should be fine. Some may frown upon using it on 3000 lb cylinders but I do and have never had a problem, Mistral and all. But that's a whole different thread!

I have a long yoke from an old Conshelf on mine or was it an old Calypso? In any case it works fine with the original style banjo and I use the wing nut instead of the wheel.

OOOPS You're right, I didn't read it close enough. Sorry Jim.

I already have 1 of the thin banjos, but it doesn't work on 1 of my valves. So I wanted a yoke that would work with all of my valves.

I saw your Mistral at SDIV, and that's what gave me the idea. I thought that a long yoke would work with any AL double hose, but after trying this, I found it wasn't true. At SDIV I just assumed they were the same. I should have asked you then.
