Powder Coating

I'm in the process of restoring one of my DAAMs... After I was able to remove the ring from the body I decided it would look good powder coated (almost a faux non-magnetic DAAM).

I've seen this done on some other regs, how was everyone's experience?

I know that on the submarine we weren't suppose to powder coat anything that was in contact with sea water... but we're talking about a nuclear submarine, not a regulator that may see the water once a month.

Just got my cans and bodies back from the powder coating fella. You must be sure that the coating used is a poly or tcif opwder. they are not subject to chalking or chipping as the other powders are. The primer coat should be zinc chromate which they use. My Mercedes black cans and body turned out really good, and pictures will soon be posted.
