I hope this helps you on your regulator buying journeys. This is a simple guide only. Not a guarantee of what is what.

Got to ask a question that requires a subjective answer. Bryan do you feel these regs showing up with mismatched parts were due to folks trying to keep regs working without being able to obtain parts, or since double hose is getting popular again people are looking for the fast buck, or both?
Sharp photos and thanks.

I don’t have the facts to support an argument one way or the other. I honestly believe that 99.9% of the regulators sold on E-bay come from yard/estate/auction house type of purchases and the seller is clueless….but may try and spice up their auction with some language from other double hose auctions.

Thanks for these pics Bryan. If only I'd had these before. At least now I know what to look for. Won't be fooled again!

I hope the photos help. Please do not consider them as a 100% guarantee of anything though. If you have questions on an auction I would ask the seller for more pictures and then we can post them here for some group advice.
If you would like to see photos of other parts or parts you have questions about let me know. I may not own the part or have spares but I'm 90% sure that I've worked on a regulator or two that contain the part in question and I'll have taken photos of it.

BTW,,,The photo idea was suggested by duckbill in the buyer beware post.

Too late for that but my delicate ego appreciates the positive comments :)

That's a great idea; I'll definitely run any more regs that interest me through the forum before bidding..

Yes,i t is kinda hard to see that in some photos but when the view presents itelf that would make an ID between RAM and DA easy.

I think most people are getting these from old Uncle Joe or Dad and they have no idea what they are. The regulators were worked on by shop monkey techs who scavenged whatever they could to keep them going after parts became diffucult and not knowing any btter messed a lot of equipment up. I just do not think most of this is intentional cheating of buyers.

With prices fairly high, people are digging in closets to find something to sell and you just have to remember this is old stuff that has been through several hands

There is always a gsmble with any such purchase fromebay or unknown persons.Good thing that both Dan and Bryan often have very nice regulators for sale. Yes, they are kinda expensive but that ebay unit is going to be expensive when all is said and done.

That is an excellent photo illustrating the differences in the two nozzle assemblies.

Ive got eight DAAMS, and it is really too much. I will be selling some off. They will be sold cleaned, and with kits in them already, and band clamps unless you really want the c clips.

I will post pix of what they are first if any one is interested before they go on ebay. PM me if interested.
